section tag in html5 with example

The <section> tag is used to define a section in a document.
A given web page can have more than one sections.
The <section> tag is supported in Internet Explorer 9, Firefox, Opera, Chrome, and Safari. IE8 and earlier versions do not support section tag.

Example 1 :

<html>
    <head><title>progress tag in html5</title>
    </head>
    <body>
        <section>
            <b>This is header Section</b>
        </section>
        <section class="content">
            <b>This is content Section</b>
        </section>
        <section class="footer">
            <b>This is footer Section</b>
        </section>
    </body>
</html>

Demo :

In the above example, we have used section element. We have defined three sections named header, content and footer.
