acronym tag in html
- The <acronym> tag is used for indicating an acronym.
- The title attribute is generally used to specify the whole word or phrase that the abbreviation is referring to. An acronym is also an abbreviation, but an abbreviation is not necessarily an acronym.
- By marking up acronyms you can give useful information to browsers, spell checkers, translation systems and search-engine indexers. The <acronym> is supported in all major browsers, except IE5.5 or earlier versions.
